I read that dragonflies go back all the way to the period of the dinosaurs but that they were much bigger than they are today so I drew this. I can see so many things about this that need to be improved but I'm trying to concentrate on the fact that at least I painted something which for the last year of the pandemic has been a rare accomplishment!

I just finished this spread for a new book project I am working on. Hoping to finish the full book soon! -

@Emma-Echter There's a lot happening in this one illo, I'd need to give my mind a rest too. Curious what the story is?

My good friend created a worship album all with songs based on The Pilgrim's Progress. He asked me if I would be interested in doing the cover art. Here is my rendition of the cover. It is Christian fleeing the City of Destruction and running to Mount Calvary. It's a two-page spread over the back of a CD case.
Edit: Why does he look like Tony Danza?
-
@Valerie-Light I really like this! Good job. I love the textures in the background. Did you create them yourself?
-
@chrisaakins Thank you! No it's just the Plimsol brush in Procreate layered over some gaussian blurred color layers, and a medium hard airbrush for the eraser and edge control.
-
@Larue Hi! well, ironically, this is the one I was 'resting' my brain on! It started out as a room inside a lighthouse, but then I wanted to add some kids, so of course, they have to be doing something - so cue a spaceship. Really, this was mostly a colour/rendering practice piece.
This is the one I was resting from;

@Braden-Hallett That tail makes it! Love it.

Challenging myself to do hour-long lighting studies in hopes I can make it a daily activity.
