I am an overthinking rule follower. This is also my first contest. Does Neutral pose mean arms down at side? Out at shoulder height like a T? or is there leniency? Grabbing a backpack strap/ holding an object? Should there be a background?

@Shelley-James-0 I think at sides, holding something, holding a strap, all quality as neutral just nothing like you know, a crazy swan dive or jump kick lol . They want to be able to see the basics of your character without overly enthusiastic gestures getting in the way.

@Shelley-James-0 go to svs learn Instagram page and find the January contest finalists. It was another character design and seeing what they got away with might give you a better idea.
