Webtoons.com is having a contest for a 60+ panel ACTION short story. The winner gets 50K/paid comic on their web platform. See their website for more details.

I may just do this as my comic has an action packed scene coming up. Good luck comic creators and If you do decide to do this it would be great to help each other here. Maybe Jake can give us some pointers on action sequences.

Dear Fellow Artist ,

So this is my very first post on here, but my least favorite one ironically . If you have read the February Contest prompt , then you will understand. It's an honest mistake but unacceptable regardless. However, I should not post to complain about my failure but rather learn what could be done better. So please by all mean people....critic away....

@miriam that's so kind of you to take your time to give that feedback 🙂 thank you. You're absolutely right about her expression, so I've made her ever so slightly happier ☺ and played with the layout of her face a little too.

Sorry about the delay but I just wanted to say thank you for the help and support with this. It’s my first time posting a WIP and figure/face design is something I really need to work on which I why I took on the brief as a personal challenge. I actually decided to give up on this at one point because I was struggling a lot. The feedback helped me to decide to go for it at the last minute (and finished at 3.30am UK time to hit the MST time zone deadline). Thank you, I really appreciate it.

@Shelley-James-0 go to svs learn Instagram page and find the January contest finalists. It was another character design and seeing what they got away with might give you a better idea.

@Melissa-Bailey-0 I tried out the spot illustration from a 3/4 view like you suggested, and of course you were completely right that it's much more engaging! I'm so grateful for the tips! Is the foreshortening on the right arm working, or is it distracting?
This is a color rough- she's not quite consistent with the character design page- something with the eyes to fix, but progress!

Thanks to everyone who had revision help for my cover! Below is my updated version. I loved @aprilshin's idea of enhancing the towers on the wall so I went that direction. I also kept the typeface, but hand-drew over it with a much brighter color to help it fit into the painterly look of the piece and to stick out. Lastly, I played with the figures and made the lion a little more "lion-y." I tried Dorothy in different variations of her showing her face, but it didn't have the same effect, so I stuck with her looking up.

@ina yea that was bothering me too lol, the reference I used has it not showing so prob. Perfectly aligned with the leg, although I'm more worried about wing placement and lighting.

@MyArt-Multiverse I like the idea. it's a unique spin on the story. I'd like to see where you take it.
