Hello my fellow rabbits!!! It's July! Actually it's still June, but I'm leaving on a hiking trip and will still be gone on the first. So I'm posting this ahead of time so it will be here when you need it. 🙂❤️

What’s everyone working on right now, in July?😂

Imagine you are walking through a studio silently looking over people’s shoulders at their work. This is NOT a place for critiques. You may applaud, encourage, ooh and ah only.

I haven't posted on here before, or if I did it was a long time ago. Im working on some comic work and trying to figure out how to use light/color for something like a cover image
Im a sign painter and illustrator actively making the transition to comic maker. This image is a test.

Nephew's baptism is on the way and I had to make a special invitation card for him.

This little turtle is representing the little fella who is gonna be named in a couple of weeks!

              Hey everyone!

I am so happy and proud of the fact that I printed my first children's book recently, Are You Scared, Ninja? Even though it's not published yet. I enjoyed working on and printing my own project that I decided to do it again 😃 I am making a sequel called, Can You Wait, Ninja? The first book teaches children about the value of being brave and this upcoming one is about the value of being patient. I am hoping to make these books into a series and hope to one day publish them but for now they are cool little books for my boys.
Here is the page spread I worked on this past week.

I have not been posting here as often as I want to, I hope I can join in on this month's challenge 🙂
Here is a character design I'm working on for a new book (a sequel to a book I illustrated last year)
In short, it's about a frazzled unicorn that gets a makeover. Had so much fun designing her.

This was my illustration I submitted for David petersen's draw the extinct challenge. Part Spitz, hedgehog, and rooster. I won an original sketch from David! I'm so excited.

I've been away (from here and art in general) for ages as I had a baby at Christmas. She's 6 months old now and I'm ready to start building up my portfolio again! This is a sketchy sketch starting point for a little red riding hood book cover that I've been thinking about for a while. Someone commented that it would make a good lino print but I'm not sure I have the patience for something this big 😄

I just finished illustrating a book and it's about to go off to print. I quit my part time graphic design job in march to go bakc to be a full time artist, and this book was the main reason I did that. It's been amazing being able to spend focused hours on it, rather than evenings and weekends where you're already burnt out. The author has been wonderful to work for. I cant wait to see it printed!!! Here's the first spread.

@neschof Maybe gouache resist? I did a few for artshows, and people thought they were lino prints...even when I was standing right next to it saying that it's not. They are much quicker, apart from having to wait until the gouache is absolutely dry. I own big tubes of white gouache (not acrylic) and quart bottles of ink because there is a bit of waste involved. I use hot press watercolor paper and tint with watercolor. This is all in past tense because it's been a few years since I made one, but I used to love the reveal when the gouache washed away (our bathtub still has black stains).
