Hey all! This is my most recent piece of practice in city scenes as I get ready to prep a large project.

I made this map for an MG novel called The Elk King by Jenn Discher that's coming out this January. It's pretty much the coolest thing I've ever made.

Sharing my Star Piece re-do after getting excellent feedback from the community

I've been reframing some stuff in my studio, and I found some fanart people gave me (and some commissions I asked for) from my webcomic. I'm a little bummed because I didn't think to save a lot of the fanart or ask for print-rez files, but the stuff I have left I think it pretty neat. Same character, many different styles!

I retired Jan 1st and am trying to reclaim the few art skills I had before this fall when I got snowed under with retirement preparations. I sooooo wish I had learned art skills as a kid — the things you learn as a child seem to stick in your head forever but the things you learn as an adult need to be relearned every time you take a break from it. Anyway, here is a bunny and fox I painted for a potential story.

@jessicalinnevans When I was a kid, my Dad built our house and never put tiles on my bedroom ceiling so I drew maps from my favorite books on each 4x8 sheet of ceiling drywall. I could lie in bed and look at the maps on my ceiling and see all of the fantasy lands I loved to read about. Maps are so much fun and yours is really beautifully done.
