@jenn I see now it’s a kite! I’m sure it will continue to unfold as work on it, keep up the good work!

I love the bold way you've blocked the colors in this rough. Nice palette choices!
I also didn't recognize the structure as a kite, though it's clear that it's made of lightweight fabric and poles. Maybe you could further the story by adding something like a poster for a kite contest or festival? Or how-to guides or magazines?

@valerie-light thanks for the tips! I will try to incorporate something like that, maybe on the wall in back.

I love that you're using CSP. I really enjoy that program over all others. Are you using any photo reference? The reason I ask is that all the sketchy brown lines look detailed enough where I can see a bike, and some other lawn equipment. To me it looks like she's making some kind of giant kite. I also like the side story you have going out in the driveway with the other two.

Nice Work, and keep it up with CSP. It's a great program....

@doodlemick thanks! CSP has been a smooth transition so far. Many of the tools are similar to, and some even an improvement over Photoshop (CS6 at least). I am sure I will eventually run into limitations where CSP won't do something Ps does.

I didn't use a reference but I'm finding that I need one, especially for the perspective which is pretty off. The scribbly clutter doesn't help things.

Latest... still needs some perspective adjustment, more 'trash,' and I'm dissatisfied at the way I did the characters, especially looking back at the previous version. I sorta lost the original style and character design. Planning to let this one simmer and get back to it this afternoon.

OK here's my afternoon work. I'm more satisfied with this one. I already see things that need fixing, but I feel like it's closer.

OK I think it's ready. Going to take a break for lunch and see if there are any other tweaks like weird tangents, but otherwise will submit this. Thank you everyone for the very helpful feedback. Even the act of posting in-progress images forced me to give it an objective once-over.
