Tight Deadline! New Book Project. Feedback Much Appreciated!
-
@ArtistErin Thanks! I’m getting really excited about this book project!
@kirsten-mcg What?! That’s your daughters name! I must say, it’s a beautiful name indeed
-
Little Squirrel officially has a name!
It’s been a real challenge naming her because she represents me when I was a kid.My middle name is Rose, so I’ve played around with the name Rosie, or Basil Rose or something similar. But then a few weeks ago, a friend of mine blurted out, “how bout Rosemary?”
It was perfect. I like that it’s an old fashioned name. Rosemary is also one of my favorite herbs too! It’s the secret ingredient to my summer homemade tomato soup.Rosemary’s personality: She is shy and quiet but in contrast she is a natural leader and is always looking for ways to help her friends. She is a deep thinker, loves creativity, gardening and tea parties. She enjoys learning and trying new things, but sometimes finding herself learning and trying things the hard way. She has an open mind, yet is highly loyal to her morals.

@Elizabeth-Rose You know what's cool since we're talking about our names, my middle name is Elizabeth! My grandparents would say in such a beautiful way, "Erin Elizabeth!!" and smile, I loved my middle name the most because of that.
-
@ArtistErin Oh! That’s so cool! There is something so special about how loved one’s say ones names. Such a happy memory
-
I’ll be working on these three spreads this month.
-
So far I got four hours in this one. I’m getting really excited about it!
-
It’s coming along!
-
@Elizabeth-Rose Wow! this is looking beautiful!
-
@GabeRobinson Thanks!
-
I must say this new picturebook project is probably going to be my favorite book project to date.
Finished another scene last week -
@Elizabeth-Rose this is just gorgeous! I love the design and the color palette you're using. And I’m really enjoying scrolling through and seeing the images shape up. Your work is very inspiring.
-
@Elizabeth-Rose How pretty! You have a really good light source but If you want you could add just a tiny bit of rim lighting on some of the characters and flowers to make them pop out more. But it still looks good the way it is
-
@kirsten-mcg Awe, Thanks! Its quite exciting I must say!
@MiaNova Thanks! And yes, that is a good point, I played around with some rim lighting! Goodness, it can be a bit tricky sometimes.
-
Goodness, I’ve not posted in a while. Here is an update:
The Cover Reveal was this week!
-
@Elizabeth-Rose It looks amazing! Great work!!
-
@Elizabeth-Rose looks wonderful. Did you engage a designer or design the whole book yourself?
-
@Elizabeth-Rose I know i keep saying this, but I'm just in love with your color palette for this book! Beautiful.
-
@Elizabeth-Rose love the colours!! It looks like such a cozy and warm story.
-
@ksfabian Thank You! The cover was fun to make!
@ArtMelC Thanks, and good question, I’m actually a graphic designer by day, and a illustrator by night. So yeah, I do the design myself.
@kirsten-mcg Awe! Thanks! It’s been a fun color palette to use! I get some of my color choices from the Adobe Color website. Lots of fun combos there in the Explore Tab.
@Chantal-Goetheer Awe! Yes, I feel like its turning into one I want to hope into.
-
I’ve had this one finished for a while, just now posting it.
Most of the story is still in rough sketch & chicken scratches. I’m trying really hard to clean it up and get it to my beta readers by the end of this week. I’m actually a whole week behind on that. Oops!
And I just announced the Pre-order date for the first day of Spring! March 20th! I think its quite suiting@MiaNova Check out the rim lighting in this one
