I posted this work before as part of a summer series and I made changes. I appreciate any feedback I can get while it's in progress. Thank you!

      Edit below! (not original thread)

@ben-migliore Love this! The only critique I have is to add a chimney and maybe some logs piled on the side of the house. There’s no visible power going to the house, but it needs some heat if there’s people living there. I live where there’s glaciers and snow and our power is a bit unreliable in the winter. There are many days when I’ve heated the house and made dinner on our wood stove. Old school, but cozy. ☺️

@pamela-fraley HaHa! I love that you mentioned elements that would matter to the characters and not just the illustration. I'll be sure to do something about that. We have to make sure our explorers survive the cold! Thank you very much!

@ben-migliore Hey Ben - this looks great - for feedback i'm thinking the red on the light source side of the cabins may be too saturated for the atmospheric conditions in your piece - other thing would be that there are strong shadows in the background environment and on the shadow sides of objects in the foreground but no cast shadows. The feeling i get is that this is a low light source (winter evening sun?) with a very dark winter sky above - it looks like the stormy sky is darkening the right foreground tree but not the snow and dock area - i'm probably overthinking this - really it looks great - i enjoy this type of abstraction

Looks great! The only thing I wonder about is the dock being just a bit out of perspective (one of my weaknesses though so I might be wrong). It seems like it should be just a bit narrower on the far end of the viewer. No big deal though.

@marsha-kay-ottum-owen Thanks. You're perfectly right about the dock. I was trying to abstract many of the elements so I scrapped scientific perspective for the style

@ben-migliore Sounds good to me! It looks great and I'm all for scrapping perspective at times 🙂

this look great, if i would ad anything, i would put some of that texture you have in the back ground hills and stuff into the snow that cabins are on, and by the docks....just at thought, really cool piece!
