Travel idea - critiques appreciated

I've appreciated seeing the great "travel" art on the forum taking shape. Here's the idea that came to mind for me... quite abstract, so I won't describe it. I'd appreciate knowing if the concept comes through without needing to read about it... I'd love any feedback, suggestions or critiques!

The pregnant woman looks well drawn but I'm not sure what the concept is?

The lady is well done! To me it looks like she is pulling the window shut. The faces in the window don't seem too friendly. So maybe she is shutting out all of those things?

@kevin-longueil Totally got it.
I think the travel theme doesn't come through as well as I'd like though, so for the sake of the monthly challenge, I'll still try to rework this. Maybe they can be two separate pieces. Would love any ideas you or anyone else may have. -
@kathrynadebayo You have a nice concept but I'm not sure if trying to make it fit the travel them is best for it. I, too, had an idea I was set on making fit the theme but my wife kindly informed me that it didn't so I had to go back to the drawing board. Maybe you could make something with getting the hospital bag ready fit the travel theme?

Thank you so much, Jon. I think you're completely right. I was trying to think of something to do with the journey of the baby into this world, but the sketch just didn't hit the mark.
Here's another idea. (sorry for the messy, literal cut and paste effect here) If it seems more in line with the topic, would anyone have some composition advice for me?

I love the image of the pregnant woman stepping onto the boat and I think that definitely conveys the sense of the journey ahead for her and the baby. I am not sure the image of the kid by the river is necessary? Just my opinion.

Is the second figure the baby’s dad waiting to welcome baby into the world? That was my first thought but I’m not sure...

Thank you both for your feedback! I was going for it being the father figure, but it's probably best not to have any confusion... I kind of like the idea of simplifying the image and just making it be the lady and the boat. Maybe I was overthinking things!
