Drafting up a handful of illustrations for my Step-Brother's Christmas gift; I'll be taking three of his go-to usernames and bringing them to life Here's the first! (Divine Oranges)

@jabbernewt That gave me a laugh. What a fun Christmas present.
-
Working on padding my portfolio with more kid lit type stuff. Trying to get a lot more practice with expressions and posture. Did these on my lunch break today.

Trying out maquettes after watching the video on them. Helping me figure out some character designs.

I hope everyone has had a great Christmas/holiday. Finished this about two weeks ago, had to wait before I could share this commission. β Cats playing D&Dβ, one cat is missing an eye.
-
Where are the legs of the chairs in the back (under the table)?
My my, I do like the cat in the green Elfen costume .
-
@heather-boyd the Base of the swivel chairs arenβt there. The camera I used is showing more highlights down there than there actually is. The base is pretty murky down there. Iβve switched the image to an alternate one.

When I started this two weeks ago, I intended it to be a Christmas picture of mice singing carols to an owl in the woods but because of the busyness of Christmas, I ended up just drawing an owl! Imagine mice below the tree singing carols

@thiskatecreates I love making maquettes! What clay are you using? Chavant is good if you never want it 'baked' hard and want to rework the same piece of clay into different designs, and polymer clay like Sculpey is great for permanent projects.
-
@kylebeaudette I used some plain stuff I found at hobby lobby. It completely dried out within a few hours so my plan to repose and adjust the characters in reference to each other didn't work out. Maybe I can find chevant on Amazon. It was disappointing watching my first draft literally fall to pieces.
-
@thiskatecreates maybe try an art store or sculpture supply. I looked on Amazon and theyre all like 100 bucks for a 2 lb brick. Each brick I have costed about 20 bucks here in canada from the sculpture supply depot

A draw this in your style thing I did. -
@kylebeaudette those draw in your style look like a lot of fun.
I really like this piece! It is like he's covered in cotton balls lols. It feels so playful and loose. Though I am trying to resolve in my head if your dragon needs just a tad of something more (texture or shading) but I am not too sure.
-
@kylebeaudette Wow! Thanks. That's a big difference.

Hello! This is my first post here. This was a pencil doodle that got out of hand and ended up in procreate for color. I am just learning to get thoughts on paper and have a hard time picking a direction so this is not really telling a story but is a thoughtless wandering of something... I used to build and sell dioramas of dungeons and alleyways and such so that is what this is coming from i guess!
