@thiskatecreates you are referring to the more common southern summer gnomes. These are clearly the northern winter gnomes. 😛 I’ve always liked the idea of gnomes being teeny people. Here’s an update: how is it reading so far?

I think that reads better for the theme! More focus on the gnome drinkers

Oh, these are related to the garden gnomes, right? 🙂

This is a clever, adorable idea! I can't wait to see it with color choices!!

Sketch so far. I’m unhappy with the design of the gnomes. So I’m going back to the drawing board to make them smoother, cleaner, and consistent. Hopefully they’ll look ok. I want to do silly but also want it to look good. I forced the perspective with the background. When I redraw. It on paper it’ll look better.

I really like the way you changed the angle on your original sketch. Can’t wait to see this one finished. It’s looking great so far! Seems like it could be a good candidate for #draw50things if you want to kill two birds.

I’m much happier with this I tried putting in light and values and having some trouble. Also how does one shade glass... I must say research.
Any thoughts on how to improve the lighting?

@swordofodin I like the value structure progress. I would do a life study of a beer stein. Side light it and fill with fave drink. Consume as reward for excellent study!

I'm so digging this entry lol The composition and layout is great, and I love the idea. The idea of normal sized being big is a lot of fun 😃

Ok redrew it on pencil. For space reasons i omitted the wizard and bucktooth gnomes but I think it still looks good.
                                      Next step is inking.

@swordofodin I like the simplified version you got going on now.

You might want to watch the straw in the gnomes eye. It looks a little funny ending there. Might want to just shorten it up a bit.

And personally I thought the extremely fat gnome from the early picture was a bit more fun, but is your call.

                                          Looking good!
