@peteolczyk said in James and the giant peach. March book cover:

Anyone else thinking of doing James and the giant peach?
      I’m just playing around with a few ideas.7548E85C-F9DD-4823-8BC4-0D29243A1F7B.jpeg 89BA3062-9B6E-44C2-833C-3DEC2FE54ACA.jpeg 89375455-0FA1-4EB6-A2C6-2306EF60F13C.jpeg
Any criticism and feedback at all is welcome.!

I love the book and also your idea of making the peach so huge only a part will fit on the cover. I am curious how you will work further: having the peach still readable as a peach and making sure it gets enough attention. And how you will incorporated these cute, appealing characters!

I like the idea of having James about to crawl into the hole in the peach. I was thinking about doing a cover for the BFG, another Roald Dahl book.

I really like your second one of James climbing into the peach, really nice composition 🙂 i'd make the house in the background slightly smaller so that it fits in the nice space you've created with the tree branch!
Look forward to seeing how it develops 😃

I agree with everyone else, the second one reads the best right away.

@peteolczyk Ohh this is such a good choice! Roald Dahl is such a great writer. I love your cute little caterpillars and where you are going with this bookcover. One thing, if I may add, maybe straighten the tree a little bit more? It looks like it's about to slide straight of the page and makes the peach look like its ready to roll right behind it.

Can't wait to see where you are taking this Pete!

I thought I’d post a wip. I’m trying to include characters and some action. I was going to try and avoid dark because there’s so much of it in my portfolio, but it just wasn’t working without it.
Would love to hear your feedback, I realise my wips are very messy. I’ve tried to tidy them up. I feel like my art is like trying to polish up a scribble.
