@BichonBistro While I was still in college I had a part time job in a prepress department redrawing logos for hours on end. We received them in every type of format imaginable, and we always made it work. To avoid a back and forth with the client, I would just supply multiple files types: high-res JPG, PDF, and SVG should be fine. I found the most requested file types to be EPS or PDF set to āeditableā in export settings, with PDF being by far the most requested. For the logos, I personally prefer the first one because the base is more round and seems to have better flow.

@Erin-Cortese Thanks Erin, I hope this will not be a major headache for the person in the pre-press department, but itās good to know it can work even if I canāt get the head vectorized. Your experience as a designer has been so helpful!

āI got a discount for Affinity Designer, but even at $19.99, itās a very worthwhile tool and Iāve barely scratched the surface.If I knew how to add tags to an existing post, I would definitely tag Affinity Designer. Thank you so much @Adriana-Bergstrom for mentioning this software!

@Erin-Cortese another few questions Erināif my saved file is editable, can the print house easily change the black to whatever color might strike the clientās fancy for scales and/or text? Iām thinking I donāt want to open the color can of worms...
Should I preserve all layers and group them according to visual element or combine/flatten layers so that all features of the scale (finial, center pole, horizontal balance, chains, bowls) and dogs (body, head, paws, shadows) are simplified?
As a person who had to do pre-press work, which made your job easier, more underlying detail or simplified elements? Thanks!
