Everyone’s work is looking great! I’m a bit late to that party as today was my first opportunity to sit down and watch the class. I’m going the digital route as I’m trying to learn it as my new main medium. What do you think of my bunny?

It's great! Where're all your practice lines? 😉

Everyone here is killing it 😃 Keep this momentum up and we'll all be ready and rarin' to go for inktober!

I'll have next week's thread with videos and homework up sometime on Sunday, and I'll post a link to it on this thread 🙂

Traditional day, today. I did this while I listened to the 3-point perspective podcast on transitioning from another career. Perhaps I should keep my day job...
I must confess that I get a little impatient drawing straight lines, even though I really enjoy hatching in creating values. I thought today, Hey! why not draw a face and see if you have gotten any better since this straight line stuff is boring? Well, it seems if I am concentrating on my lines, they are great (well, better anyway), when I am concentrating on a picture I am not so confident. I think it is what I am always telling my students. "Don't see it as a face, see it as a series of lines and shapes. Maybe I need to listen to my own advice as an art teacher. Even so, it IS improvement.

@chrisaakins omg i met someone once that enjoyed stippling I was like. What? Why? But it did look cool... yeah I hope you dont feel bad about not quitting your day job. I’m not either and am going to try to gradually transition into a job that is closer to publishing or art or printing.

I did this one in Paper while watching TV. (It was a mystery and though I got a lot of inking practice, I missed why the killer did it!) I like doing the dip pen better but boy is digital faster 🙂

@Aleksey I know, right? You should try teaching stipling to 36 high schoolers all pounding ink pens to death. It's painful on so many levels. But it does look cool.

@BichonBistro Thanks! You are so encouraging!

@BichonBistro I used the fountain pen in the Paper app. I usually use Procreate for digital work but for sketches I sometimes use Paper to keep things simple.

@demotlj what? It is not a physical fountain pen on a physical paper? I did not suspect. looking good.

@xin-li Paper is a fun app for that kind of thing. No ability to do layers but its tools feel pretty real.

@chrisaakins i do not envy you, may i suggest either muji pens, or those gel ink pens or ball point pens to cut costs and also not be sad about kids ruining art supplies
