OCTOBER CONTEST: The experiment worked! Penny was so relieved to have her dog back from the dead.

Sneaking in before the bell!
Decided to stay pretty minimalist with this one - hope it can hold up!
Love all the ideas you peeps have pumped out this month!

Maybe not very Halloween-esque, but that wasn't a requirement, right?

Here's my entry.

Not a real print this month... my plate had problems and I didn't have time to try again. So it is pen only...
-
This month's theme was haaaaaaard. I'm just glad to be submitting something! Good luck to everyone!

So... Much... Hatching...

Wow! Good stuff everyone. Here's my entry...the premise is a botanist girl brings her dog back as a hybrid dog/plant. Good luck everyone!

I couldn't help but elaborate on this story a bit. Happy Halloween SVS friends.

Here is my submission. Penny doesn't show much emotion so a smirk is quite the smile.

...or so she thought.

Wow, these are great! Thanks everyone who submitted! We're still trying to nail down a date for the next Critique Arena, but looks like it'll be sometime during the week of Nov 11-15...we'll keep you posted!
-
@Miriam Awesome! I was wondering if anyone would go this route. Looks great.

Greetings Everyone!
I know I'm a little late but I have been busy illustrating a book I can't wait to share with everyone.
Because I love a challenge, for this contest, I wanted to visually tell the story just with the cast shadows and a few clues. I hope you love it as much as I loved solving this puzzle!
Congrats to everyone on your original creative approaches and keep up the good work!
Stay well and creative.
