@MichaelaH Thanks
! I think it's shaping up
Now I get to ruin it with ink!
-
@StudioLooong and yet so happy
-
@Braden-Hallett lol!
BTW, for a dark illustration, this is still pretty cute!!!!
-
@Braden-Hallett you are so right, all happy puppy pictures are fun to look at. haha, these two... their expressions are hilarious, alos love the angle you are using in the image. Great job.
One thing bugs me a bit with the design is Penny and the neighbor kid with puppy head are almost the same in size. Is there a better solution for this somehow?
-
@xin-li Interesting! Would you like to see more of a difference in size between the two? Like a smaller Penny and a larger frankenpooch?

@Braden-Hallett yeah. Maybe smaller penny and a larger pooch will just do. I feel like this is a very dynamic scene, and I love the concept. But the choice of composition is a bit static: 2 equally sized characters, each ocuppy approximately half of the page. Hope this make sense.
-
@xin-li Absolutely makes sense
I'll fiddle about with scale before inking. Thanks! I like the storytelling idea that the neighbour kid was not just a jerk, but older, too. Or maybe it's her older brother, lol

Work progresses
-
@Braden-Hallett i just realised this but where did she get the human body?
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz According to Penny 'any and all bodies, human or otherwise, become property of the owner of the domicile in which said body currently resides at time of death'.
Billy DID come over to play, recently...
-
@Braden-Hallett omg LoL. I laughed out loud. I also looked at the gravestone and grave in the BG which I hadn't before.. laughing out loud again snort snort

-
@Braden-Hallett oh god...
-
@Coley I'm glad it's not too subtle, lol
@Nyrryl-Cadiz It's all okay because Penny's got her pupper back
And Billy was a total jerk!
-
Reinked Penny and the Pupper.
Added the BG trees. Gave some value to the fence.
Gonna fiddle with some clouds in the sky mebbe.
-
@Braden-Hallett Great piece. You really nailed it again. Wow. Very interesting take on the topic. It took the third read to discover Billy's head by the grave. I first thought it was just dirt, or grass or something. Was it intensional?
-
@xin-li Thanks! And no, third read is definitely not intentional (maybe second read?) My plan is to reinforce the contours a little bit on the grave and shovel then maybe give Billy a baseball cap
-
@Braden-Hallett Maybe making Billy a red head in an earthy graveyard would help him pop.
-
@jakecrowe Sadly the entry must be black and white
If haveing a hat doesn't work, I may just remove the head all together and just have the shovel and the machete do the talking.
