I see that colour and lighting class paying off
Boy is it ever!

@Braden-Hallett I remember hearing somewhere that turning your painting upside-down is a good way to tell if it's balanced.
Ha, ha! You could hang it on a spinner, so it can be rotated. -
@Laura-Brown thanks. It is a bit tricky to get the picture up. I am sure it gets easier with use.
-
@Heather-Boyd Thank you!

Ha, ha! You could hang it on a spinner, so it can be rotated.lol I suppose that's a good thing

@deborah-Haagenson @Heather-Boyd Thank you both!!
-
@CLCanadyArts I got lots of help at my WIP thread. I would not be able to do this by myself.
-
@Tom-Shannon thank you. I was really excited when I thumbnailed this idea. The rendering was a lot more difficult than I thought. Many thanks to many rounds of feedback at my WIP thread.
-
@sigross You're all good!
-
Wow, there’s a lot of great stuff here! First post for me. Hope everyone’s having a great year.
-
@BichonBistro Oh, thank you! I was excited to participate, and I’m looking forward to February’s contest
-
@BichonBistro nice one. I always loved the patterns in TV snow when I was a kid. So I thought Will the Yeti would too.
-
@LisaF Aces! I did have a look to see what time it was in LA when I submitted.
-
@Laurel-Aylesworth I really like this concept. Very original and reminds me a bit of a Brontë novel, or maybe the Secret Garden!
-
@Braxton You really got the sense of light in this one. Those tracks almost hurt my eyes, which means you really nailed it! In general, your illustration has a really nice atmosphere, a bit like the book Goodnight Gorilla, which was always one of my favorites to read to my daughter when she was small. And though it's a completely different seasonal reference, it also reminds me a bit of a swimming pool at night.
-
@burvantill I don't remember if I ever said this out loud or only thought it (not particularly helpful!), but this is one of my favorite concepts this month! I love Will's expression and, despite the fact that here Will is a bear, it's one of those very "human" situations in which we all find ourselves now and then!
-
@LauraA Thankyou very much
-
@LauraA Thanks so much, that's exactly what I was going for! I just looked up Goodnight Gorilla, and it looks great so I ordered a copy.
-
@neschof that is the best kind of feedback, when someone understands the "feel" you are trying to go for Thank you so much for your kind words.
