@Braden-Hallett I'm working on watching the demo for dappled right now. I was wondering if you just have too much light in the background and/or it's not really obvious that there are for example trees or something casting the shadow/causing the dapples?

bounced reflected light (a bit harsh and blotchy). I could keep noodling but it seems like a waste of time to get perfection in studies?! I'm assuming I'll make it perfect later lol!!! Great practice tho!

@Braden-Hallett The ball would have a cast shadow cutting off the dapples on the ground πŸ™‚

nice! Definitely a much stronger attempt than mine πŸ˜ƒ

For some reason the overlapping daubs of light help to sell it for me.

And you also just helped me click a puzzle piece for reflected light. My brain wants the reflected light to be the same colour as the light source instead of the colour of the object it's bouncing off of. Light reflected off of grass is green πŸ™‚ Awesome.

@Braden-Hallett I actually have a brush called dappled light! So I totally cheated ha ha ha!!! I got it from a brush set for a $1 support of Djamila Knopf on Patreon πŸ™‚
I think Marco Bucci said the reflected light off of grass should be a bit more yellow but yeah, same color as object it bounces off.....or, at least it absorbs some of the color and reflects it back πŸ™‚ At least there is one thing I learned from all my oil painting lol!

Hey! I found some reflected color! While petting the dog I couldn’t help but see it so I had to take a picture and share it with you all.
