@ArtofAleksey its been pretty good. The people here are really nice, but I miss the mountains and green in Utah where we just lived. Luckily we are only planning to be here for two more years until I finish my PhD program.

@ArtofAleksey we are in the northern part near New Mexico. Its pretty far from any of the big cities in the State.
I take so long to make my illustrations! Haven't managed to do more than the contest illustrations... currently working on a faster process, but not sure I'm happy with the result, so won't share yet... So for now, here's what I've managed to finish

@KajsaH - Both of these have a fun energy to them. I love the dog / fox! It's so cute. I also like the texture of the plants on the hills.
@silvialcg - Yes, I have a hard time finishing drawings, too! (Partly from being at a beginner level, and partly due to my health.)
I've been meaning to watch and 'paint' along with some SVS videos. I know Will Terry had one a little while ago. I can come up with a sketch that looks ok, but I don't have any painting / coloring skills. Lee's texture videos on YouTube have been very inspiring—it was exactly what I was wanting! Nice textures can add so much to an illustration.
As with anything—we just need to keep learning & practicing. Also, I think it helps to not worry about how fast you progress if you don't have a lot of time to put into it—just enjoy being creative. If improving your skill is more of a priority, check out Jake Parker's advice for being productive / time management. He has some YouTube videos with great advice on that topic.
