      @reelynn Hi, I love the composition and the character! The perspective of the room looks fine, but I feel that granny should be placed closer to the fireplace. Or, rather, the fireplace wall brought closer to the viewer, what do you think?

      @lize You would be AMAZED what a viewer will accept as long as you present it confidently. You mentioned that this image is about:

      lot of little DIY things people can do for biodiversity in their garden

      In your position I would make the judgement call this this is more important than the illusion of space (which is effectively what painting atmospheric perspective is)

      I would feel confident setting aside the rule of atmospheric perspective because you can create the illusion of realistic space using other tools: linear perspective, object overlap, varying degrees of detail, color and hue etc.

      Again, use what makes sense and disregard the rest.

      We have a book called Pen Control and Tracing. All the pages are laminated and it comes with a dry/erase marker. Here are some images. The one page is a maze. I guess what I am saying is that if you make it reusable like this, it could be something to use over and over again. 66CEB745-2AF4-404F-8449-BA9AA7DE8C13.jpeg 0B1C4969-26CA-428A-B7F2-FC06DF01F8D0.jpeg

      @frogpunzel said in Critique/Suggestions Please!:

      @sminthy This is cool! Really, I don't have a ton of experience... So take it as you will. Your darkest bunny has a very similar dark background, your light bunnies have a light background. You may consider finding a way to help them stand out. The huge area of white sky also really draws my eye away from the bunny. But if you have words going there maybe that will help. I like how you show the whole jump, great idea. Keep up the good work!

      Oh that’s a great point! I hadn’t thought about modifying the background behind the different tones for the bunnies. I’ll play with that for sure. I was planning on using that white space for the words, but maybe I can do a wash of a less-distracting green or something there just to imply more of the rainforest around them. I’ll play with it and figure that out 🙂 Thank you for the feedback!

      @helen Kids activity packs were part of the inspiration for this. nothing is worse than getting home with a new toy to relise that batteries are not included or you need something else, so i wanted to include everything you needed because a trading card game for younger kids realy should be like an activity pack.

      This is fantastic Dima, congratulations on all your hard work bearing such beautiful fruit. I too, have just finished the illustrations for my first children's book with a self publishing author. So many lessons learnt, and so rewarding. I hope our book looks at least half as good as yours!

      @robbery Great start! Cool concept 🙂

      would experiment with separating the outline of the head and the scene. see attached image.

      Tone down the lined shading on the computer *Top Left

      Vary the linework to bring the computer room forward.

      I hope that helps.
