SEPTEMBER CONTEST: Ink Fairy
-
I remember when I used the pen brush the first time, I was hooked! Love this month challenge.
Here is my submission. it took a lot of me to get Ellie's design down, the turning point for this piece was when I added the magnifying glass. -
@kimmypie Thank you sheΒ΄s based of my grandmother
-
Hi everyone, loving the entries so far!
I decided to go with traditional inking this time and really enjoyed the change in medium.
-
Hi everyone. Just signed up with SVSLearn and thought I'd give this prompt a shot.
I wondered what the picture itself would look like.
-
@Chris-W welcome to the forum and welcome to learning.
-
@Heather-Boyd Thanks, Heather

My first entry into the monthly contest in quite some time. I was pleased with my fairy design, but struggled mightily with how I wanted to place Ellie. "Finished, not perfect" though, right?

Hi Everyone,
Great entries so far!
Here is my entry. I enjoyed trying out some inking brushes in procreate.

Hello

Wow, so much talent at SVS. I wasn't going to participate this month, but then realized it's way more fun if my entry is in the mix. Good luck everyone!
-
In Procreate with the studio pen. (For those who have never seen an animal based fairy, this is a m...ink fairy, a little animal fairy who loves the inky blackness of ink because it matches its fur.)
-
Here is my entry this month so. much. crosshatch. so much.
-
@Mary-Toth Super cross-hatching!

Hi Everyone! Here is my entry.
I remembered how I played with ink and brushes as a kid while drawing this. Hope you like it! -
Nice work fellow ink fairies. I switched between Procreate and Fresco on this, mostly using brushes from a set called Rusty Nib Inkers but some ink washes and a couple of render type brushes too.
I am an svslearn member, @mamadraw or Laura Beattie irl.

@Mary-Toth I really love what you've done! Wonderful
