                                            Inktober Day 18 - Trap

I was running a bit behind with the posts these last few days, but I do plan on completing all of them eventually.

I looked up the definition of "trap" on Bing and one definition really stood out to me, "The compartment from which a greyhound is released at the start of a race," so that's the definition I went with.

Inktober Day Eighteen - Trap - Jonathan Malski.jpg

I looked up some reference photos for this piece, but I think I could've done some preliminary studies of greyhound anatomy just so I could make a more accurate drawing. Some of the shadows could also be strengthened on the dog, specifically on the underbelly so the "shirt" could stand out more.

(I found out that greyhounds usually have some sort of muzzle on when they race, but I figured that would complicate the dog's head too much and sort of distract from the movement/energy of the dog, and that was the main element of the drawing that I wanted to focus on).
