Quick little update. Haven't had much time to work on this so I'm scrambling a little. But here are a couple test shots as I decide on wall paper and floor. I'm thinking I'll go with the darker of both. Next up is building the fireplace and some other goodies!! Must move faster. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ rush rush!

I'm also testing out the viewing through the window which I've begun to detail.. but I may abandon it because I'm not sure I like the shot through it as much as I thought I would.....

Oooh I missed these images! The outside window shot would be super cool as part of a book where you're slowly zooming in on what's happening inside. So cozy 😍

                        Ok detailing detailing detailing!

Here is where I make the Christmas tree and begin some decorations!

                        Screenshot_20201201-182528_Gallery.jpg

These are little plastic eyeballs that I am painting with metallic paint.

The Christmas tree is made entirely out of green pipe cleaners, an absolute TON of hot glue, and then I painted over it with some darker green paint. Screenshot_20201201-182517_Gallery.jpg

I've stuck the little copper eyeballs into the tree and am working on some more decor.

Such as this garland of copper πŸ₯°

πŸ₯° made a little wreath, hung some little stockings.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Do you keep your creations after you are done photographing them? I just saw your finished product in the All Stars thread and thought, "Some child would have so much fun playing with that set." (And some adults too!)

@demotlj Haha Thanks and yeah I typically keep everything I can.
And for this one I actually did use quite a few pieces that are kids toys! That's the beauty of working in this scale. I took some pieces from a vintage doll house and re-finished them for this piece and then built my own pieces to fit within the scale of the furniture.

Here is a before and after of my editing process - so you can see just how much "post editing" was done.

This is what it looked like when I first took the picture. ed84adfc-5146-4a21-963b-d7adb2648f85-image.png

and then - voila! a couple hours of digital editing, painting in the fire, the lighting, tiling the background wall paper, adding textures, removing blemishes, painting over the eyes, digitally adding in a third present because it felt unbalanced. Color shifts, saturation shifts, contrast shifts, etc.
