I got a major assignment done. As a reward to myself I drew an ocelot.

Trying various styles at the moment.
This one is a monster slayer, wth various same weighted lines.
Wanted to try keeping the contour lines really thin, just like the inside detail lines.
                      Coloured lines,Shades and highlightsare left.
                      What do you think?

Made this based on an art prompt from a group that's more Fine Art and Studio Art-oriented than illustration, but thought I'd share it here too. It's called "The Tree of Hopes and Dreams". The prompt was supposed to merge the requirements of a landscape, a tree, and the concept of "inside/out". The tree was supposed to indicate/represent a contrast of some nature to something else.

So, I ran with the idea of that state one experiences before one commits to a choice. To be presented with a moment laden with potential, and simultaneously not know whether it is good or bad. To know there are signs but not be able to interpret them. To shift from the vast emptiness of what is known to step into the bright light of the unknown.

Well, that's what was in my head, anyway. LOL!

wanted to share this illustration I did for the prompt "home" for inktober52
I was inspired by the simplicity of landscapes in the Miyazaki films and didn't think about trying to replicate it but instead just tried to keep the feeling I get when I watch these films

Parent and child, going through a rough neighborhood.
Traced the buildings in the background from a great artist named 'mateusz urbanowicz', and then altered them to make them fit the drawing. I often trace real world photos and then alter that for backgrounds, but here I found these cool drawings and stole their shape. Wrong? Yep. Gotta learn backgrounds😅

phew! I was finally able to finish some work I began forever ago when I was rereading Harry Potter for the 4th time.

and I began working on another piece that I begun even before that
