I finished this little songbird yesterday as I tried to allay my fears of doing my first live Artstream on Twitch coming up on Friday... hehe... I think I need the weekly commitment to force myself to step out of my stasis and take some steps forward into the art life. I've always enjoyed watching others work, and I rigged up a multi-cam setup and will be streaming my iPad screen using Procreate. But it's still going to be challenging... Splitting my attention between my work and the chat will not be something I've experienced before. I'm a teacher so I'm used to talking in front of people, but doing it virtually is going to be something else... Oy...

Working on this watercolor and color pencil piece. Learning a lot as I go! Making it a point to complete it in spite of mistakes.

May I add I like all your works! I feel like a fish out of water, the works all look so good and distinctly different from each other.

I'm working on some portfolio pieces this month. Hoping to have at least 2-3 a month done until I'm confident enough with what direction I'm going in when it comes to style.

Still experimenting with style 😢 I’m not in love with the end product haha. Seeing it lined up like this I feel like the piece deteriorated as I refined the composition. So much more to learn haha.

I've slowly been working through the intro to character design course. I kinda got carried away in the "rough ideas" stage, and ended up making decently fleshed out characters already (even though they're still really rough sketches). I really need to get back to the lessons and create the character lineup. My idea was Beauty and the Beast set in the Victorian era πŸ˜ƒ

Hi everyone, some great work posted this month.

I've been working on some characters this month too. Haven't specifically done the class work, but really happy for the 'bean' shape tip πŸ™‚

This is an idea I'm playing around with for the SCBWI prompt 'my secret identity'; a masquerade party for kids. I'm also working on the Plum Awards - Jason and the Golden Fleece.

And I will get onto that pesky yeti cooking, honestly, I'm finding the yeti theme quite difficult. Better get craking - February is slipping by....

@donnamakesart Yeah, I was really happy I found out with more than 2 weeks to deadline this year! I entered last year, the theme was Mary Poppins, lots of fun too.

Im doing a business course to push myself as an illustrator and working on opening a Redbubble shop. I’m trying to create a β€˜brand’ for myself. Working on a cover image to use on my website/Twitter/LinkedIn as I have been advised to make all sites look coherent. Unfortunately every site has a different size for the cover image so I’m going to have to tweak each one πŸ˜•

I also need to practice drawing people, something I put off EVERY month!
