more colour thumbz (comps?)

Iโve slowly been putting together a book over the last year or so and have started streaming for accountability (and you feel like a magician when you creating something friends donโt know how to do, thatโs definitely part of it). Itโs an alphabet book about bugs eating breakfast. This is a too detailed sketch that I started having too much fun with.

Teaching my students to paint trees has inspired me.
-
@chrisaakins Nice foliage.
-
I hated it this morning but looking at it now, itโs not bad haha. International Book Giving Day is on Feb 14 apparently

Working on some scenes for an animatic a client is making
-
Working on the second of three Narnia pieces for my portfolio. This one will still be subject to a lot of changes, but until I draw things out, I can't really tell how well they're working structurally, so I'm quite open to feedback. I also may flip the whole thing so I can show the wand in her right hand, but wondering which direction best fits Edmund being there already and the Witch driving up.
(P.S. Just saw all the typos!)

Also just messing around with some Digital Watercolors in PS. Magical Blobfish regent from the universe of Howl's Moving Castle?... thinking about calling him Bob.
-
I finished this little songbird yesterday as I tried to allay my fears of doing my first live Artstream on Twitch coming up on Friday... hehe... I think I need the weekly commitment to force myself to step out of my stasis and take some steps forward into the art life. I've always enjoyed watching others work, and I rigged up a multi-cam setup and will be streaming my iPad screen using Procreate. But it's still going to be challenging... Splitting my attention between my work and the chat will not be something I've experienced before. I'm a teacher so I'm used to talking in front of people, but doing it virtually is going to be something else... Oy...

Working on a new print.
Super Mario bros and King Boo
Sketch phase.

Working on this watercolor and color pencil piece. Learning a lot as I go! Making it a point to complete it in spite of mistakes.
-
@Coreyartus This is beautiful. I love the whole thing, especially how you caught the sunlight.
-
Oh hey I found a work around for this months prompt. Disclaimer, this is a collage of spot illustrations from pinterest. Just wanted to see how the concept would layout haha

@donnamakesart I love this! Such a sweet image and nice use of colors.
-
@donnamakesart I love this, too! It reminds me of Jillian Tamaki's 'Our Little Kitchen' https://www.google.com/books/edition/Our_Little_Kitchen/qPTSDwAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&printsec=frontcover

May I add I like all your works! I feel like a fish out of water, the works all look so good and distinctly different from each other.
-
I'm working on some portfolio pieces this month. Hoping to have at least 2-3 a month done until I'm confident enough with what direction I'm going in when it comes to style.
-
Still experimenting with style Iโm not in love with the end product haha. Seeing it lined up like this I feel like the piece deteriorated as I refined the composition. So much more to learn haha.
-
@Georgios-Christopoulos I love it! Your images always bring back a heavy dose of nostalgia!

@Elliot So pretty!
