I'm a chronic multitasker, so when I'm chipping away at things I usually have a youtube window up with my current rabbit hole topic up....I'm addicted to Ink Master, which is silly but so intriguing to hear people in a really different line of craft talk about artistic concepts that apply across the board. I also love documentaries about aerial or circus arts! And the Try Guys are a go-to for comforting background noise. As for music, The Glitch Mob is my all-time fave....no lyrics and good beats.

@demotlj that's a BIG mood on the designing phase! That can be a challenge if things aren't quiet.

I love listening to soundtracks when I'm working, at the moment I'm listening to the Stranger Things soundtrack and the Outlander soundtrack (best tv programme ever haha) 🙂

In general I’m all over the place. Music, YouTube, svs classes, podcasts. Audiobooks mostly. I just finished 7 audiobooks in a row from the Outlander series. I’m waiting a bit before i start the next one because Mortal Engines is about to drop in my Overdrive app and I don’t want to miss it. Lol. So I’m filling the gap with Will Terry YouTube, Comic Lab podcast (thanx @Aleksey 😜) and SVS critique vids.
Oh PS. Sometimes I listen to movies. Shakespeare in Love, The Martian, and Passengers(the Pratt/Lawrence one) being my favorites.

I listen to a lot of Musicals. They are generally the same style of music all the way through and they can be pretty long. Nothing kills my creative mood more than having to pick new music after an album or playlist ends in 30 minutes. I prefer 1-3 hours of uninterrupted music that I love. Good musicals: Hadestown, Oklahoma, Bring it On, Brightstar, Heathers, Anastasia.

            Cheers,

Most of the time my go to is Ministry. I have loved them since I was little and Al Jourgensen is still at it after all these years. Surprised he is still alive LOL. I think he is as well. The last few weeks Slipknot has been on heavy rotation due to their new album coming out in a few days and Knotfest is only a couple weeks away. Hed(pe) is another one I can always listen to.

@hannahmccaffery they go fast when you listen all day. I have a problem. Lol. It’s just hard to turn them off because Gabaldon made such great characters. I am excited about the books she’s working on now. I’ll have to read that one though, I don’t think I’ll be able to wait for it to come out in audio. 😬😬😬

I also listen to Art History Babes. It’s about various topics of art history. And Gastropod because I really like food and has given me a great idea for a comic.

Right now I am actually re-listening to the 3PP 'Building a Strong Portfolio' podcast while finishing off this month's art prompt (I'm like the person they describe who has no idea what their goal is!). After this I'll have a bit of brain relaxing Lo-Fi beats playlist on Spotify. For a little treat I have a break where I watch an episode or two of Hey Duggee cartoons on BBC iPlayer. (It's for preschool but I think it's a master of simple animation and theres loads of jokes that adults will get in there! I love watching all of the little details added in.)

I mostly listen to podcasts, talking about art and such. I've been hooked on Levar Burtons story podcast. It's geared more towards adults. https://open.spotify.com/show/21yjAjzYXD1xCNDad4OdTV 💜💜💜💜

Jonsi is one of my favorites to listen to while painting, usually more happy than Sigur Ros and isn't in English so it's not as distracting. 🙂

I put twitch on and listen to other random people play videogames. I don't know, I enjoy video games a lot but find when I play them I often get bored and feel like I could be drawing instead. Listening and watching someone else play scratches that itch, and I get something more productive done at the same time.

@CLCanadyArts Watching it live seems to be such an awesome experience, with both the visuals and the sound! I had to google it now that you mentioned it, and it seems they are actually planning a live tour in 2022, if things like that are possible by then. I'm tempted to get a ticket, even though I'm in the wrong country and also not sure if I should be that optimistic.

@Joen-Söderholm Neat website. Live would be amazing fur sure, but I will cling to that "live video", as I doubt I will ever get to see them truly live.

When I’m drawing I love listening to the song of the sea soundtrack or wolf walkers sound track or any ghibli soundtrack . It gets me in the zone and I feel like I’m drawing a world that fits the music. Actually depending what I’m listening to it really influences my drawing. If I listen to bat for lashes which I totally recommend her last album if you loved the movie lost boys or if your an 80s kid like me, actually any of her albums are really cool, she has a song about Daniel San need I say more 😉 it’s a whole other vibe the drawings I do .Music is a big part of finding your style I think , it really influence what you draw and the style 7BA87632-A616-44B6-AE26-3F74C8ABDAA9.jpeg

I feel like you can never go wrong with Tycho. Plus founder Scott Hansen is a designer. The Awake album is a great place to start:

Lately I have been listening to ADHD Focus music when I start on a project. By the end of the project I listen to 70’s 80’s 90’s early 2000 rock music. I tried to listen to a podcast but I find it to distracting.
