Manuscript Critiques

@frogpunzel Thank You, that would be great. How does this work? Do I just post it, or send it to you in PDF? What's the protocol here? I have never done this before. This is my first children's book as well, so I am not even 100% sure I even have the manuscript layout done correctly. What do you feel most comfortable with?
Thanks again for the assist.

@doodlemick I think I can send you my email over a chat in the forum if you want to email it to me. I will give it a try, let me know if it works.

Hi Mick,
I’d be happy to give a look over. I’m currently taking a university course on writing picture books and it would also help me put my skills to use, to look through someone else’s writing and offer insight. -
I don't think there's a problem if you post it here, I know many of us would love to share our opinions with you and help push you along your path. Maybe just input a link?

I like to write too and would be happy to take a look, if you’re still looking for feedback. cayleenrae@gmail.com

@cayleen Thank you, I am in the process of doing another revision, and would love to get in contact with you at that time if your still interested.
Thanks again.

@doodlemick You bet! Maybe tag me here to let me know when you’re ready just so I don’t miss it in my email.

I think I am ready to send out version 13 of my "Dexter Doesn't Quit" Picture Book Manuscript. Are you three still willing to give honest feedback and harsh critiques if required? -
@DoodleMick You got it!

I Just wanted to personally thank @Frogpunzel @AngelinaKizz @Asyas_illos and @Cayleen for taking the time to read through and critique my picture book manuscript. I would like to see more options for Manuscript Critiquing like this on SVSLearn if possible.
I am taking all your comments to heart and will be working on an update version soon.
Thanks again.

@doodlemick not sure if this is too late or not, especially since you might not want too many critique partners -- too many cooks, and all that. But I'm willing to read it through and give you honest feedback. I'm a published author-illustrator and have experience editing picture books. You can contact me via my website link, below this message.
Something you might want to seriously consider is joining SCBWI (the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) if you haven't already. There is a wealth of information in The Book (which is updated every year), conventions, and webinars that help authors and illustrators hone their craft. I also found my critique group through my regional SCBWI chapter. It's a great resource that I have personally found well worth the membership fee.
