Hi folks!, this is my entry for the HTFYA of this month, I hope you like it, I'm still struggling with how to color my drawings but one day at a time

Hey all! I'm Anna and brand new to the forum but I've been listening to 3PP for years... I found the food truck prompt engaging and had a fun idea so I thought I'd enter my work this month! Looks like I wasn't the only one with this concept either, @jahn, but my image is a bit of a different take on the rubbish/garbage truck... hope that's okay!

There are tons of things I don't love about this final piece 
haha I actually think its totally over-worked.And I think I made a huge mistake with trying to get creative with the horizon line... but let me stop pointing out the infinite list of things that are wrong with it
So, can't wait to learn about all the things I can do better next time!
Also yes I am guilty of changing up the prompt a bit... oops

@annastenger Oh that's awesome! Love your shapes on the animals and especially the truck. The basic lighting and limited palette works so well. Good work!

@AustinShurtliff I couldn't finish this one because my elbow is broken and I won't have my right hand back until at least halfway through August, but I think I'm going to post what I was able to do anyway, because the main thing I wanted feedback on was the story and composition.
I'm sort of embarrassed because it's still very rough, and it looks like one mermaid is diving over the old man's head, which I hope I could've fixed, but since this is all I can do I'll post it. Also, I was hoping to find a way to make it obvious that the seller herself was at at least a part-time mermaid.
I look forward to seeing the critiques!

Here’s my take on this months prompt. I feel like something is missing though, and I cant put my finger on it. I’ve tried softer line work (pencil), more details in the background, less details in the background, but I just can’t seem to get it to a stage where it looks done, but not overdone 🫠 Any feedback or advice is much appreciated

Hiya everyone. I've not been active on SVS for a little while but I listened to the podcast the other day where Lee was talking about this prompt and he described almost the exact image I drew in 2022! So I thought I would submit it
It probably won't count as it's over 2 years old but I couldn't miss the chance to submit it after I heard his description! This is "Chaffy's BirdBox" (the bird inside is a Chaffinch - I'm from the UK).Any feedback and critique always welcome and it would be interesting to redraw it based on the critique and see the difference.
