The dilemma I always get to at this point, Am i finished? Last night I thought I was and this morning I’m thinking I could go further but am worried about messing it up. I have been looking at a lot of watercolor illustrations and feel that I’ve pushed the value range enough on this one that it’s not flat and boring. But then I feel this way at the end of EVERY painting I do. So I’m asking for your advice/opinions. I think I’m finished. Do you? 🤔🤪🤣0_1532524536118_ED8C2B05-099D-49D0-9C9C-4FDB048E6C53.jpeg

@burvantill When i first saw the sketch on Instagram I loved the dog, however I thought at first it was a three headed dog. It took me a second to read that he was moving his head back and forth. I hope you don't mind, but I took it into photoshop and blurred the middle to give the effect of movement. I also tweaked the levels and knocked up the saturation a little. Thats just personal preference for me. When ever I finish a piece I tend to do that, to me it gives the piece a little more life.

I had the same experience as @Chip-Valecek --I thought at first that it was Cerberus (which was cool also) but then realized what was going on. It looks great with the colors!

I think I will and some more layers for saturation and value. Thank you!
Since I’m not going to go digital with this one do you think if I make the extra noses more distinct that would help express the motion? Darker noses and add a little white around them? I’m just gonna go do that. If I F it up, I F it up. 😳🤪😜

@alexsen i agree. I would’ve gone that route but I was going for a more classic comic gag. Lol.

@burvantill You definitely pulled that off in the final version. I love how it turned out. Well done!

@whitney-simms LOL! Thanx! That poor puppy is my dog and this actually happened, but with a snake, not a squirrel. We call him the T-Rex of dogs. If the prey stands still he can't see it. LOL!
