@burvantill thank you for your comment, I wasn't sure this kind of cross over would work, it's good to hear it did

Had another artsy day with @kaitlinmakes today down by the river. We are practicing our plein air. This is a value study. I thought I would get better at value and then tackle color again. I have to say that I am using my son's old elementary school water color paint set, lol. I am currently making a travel watercolor kit out of an Altoid mint tin box and my GOOD paints. So next month my plein air will be a little less... well let of YIKES and more of OOH. LOL. =)x

@nyrrylcadiz I think I read that you can get a program to connect your iPad to your computer & use it to draw in Photoshop. So that might be an option for you. Sorry I don't know much about it--I don't have an iPad, but I'm thinking about buying one!

@tessaw I didn't see the labels for the emotions at first, so when I looked at the first image, I tried to think of what the emotion might be & I would have picked "anticipation", so you really nailed it! (I clued in by the time I saw the second image, so no uninformed guesses for those.) The others are really good, too.

@miriam yeah, i’ve heard about it too. However, i don’t have an apple laptop so i still can’t use photoshop with my ipad. It’s alright though. Procreate is more than enough ( when it comes to digital drawing/paiting that is). I’m still holding out hope that they add a text tool in procreate. Hehe

Had my draw date with @burvantill yesterday! I definitely tip my hat to plein air painters - it's a whole new rodeo.
Using quache to try and capture value and color. -
I’ve been working on my book dummy and have finally gotten to the colored pages. This is the last page .

Continuing life drawing classes but have so many questions and not really getting answers. Like is there a difference between line of action and gesture? If so what is it? Also is loa/gesture meant to be seen as the inner bone structure of the figure like the curve of the spine or ?? And how do you stop things from getting stiff once you start measuring proportions etc? so much to learn but I am enjoying the challenge.

@missmushy This video and a few others on his channel will help you.

@rcartwright thanks will take a look!
-
@burvantill that’s such exciting news!!! Congratulations!!
-
Still life homework for 2nd beginners’ drawing class. Really should not have chosen a glass object. Oh well- live and learn
-
@missmushy looking good!

I started working on the second colored page for my book dummy yesterday. It took me a while to get going on the color, my insecurities were keeping me from it. I had to tell myself to just freaking do it! If I screw it up I’ll do it again. Then as soon as I’m into it the insecurities go away. Weird. Does anyone else have this problem?
Here are some progress pics.

These were done month back or so but it’s an update none the less. These are large files so I will have to separate them in posts.

Thanks. People/ portraits are next on my list, I have done one already.

Just completed 5 week life drawing class. Still a lot to learn but felt good to get something looking almost human on the paper! But more practice needed so will be going to some drop in sessions in future.

I picked up this bad boy for $5 this weekend at the thrift store. Woot! No more standing at the window to trace my art.
-
@burvantill So jealous!! Ha! I have always wished one would appear when I'm out thrifting, but no luck so far. Enjoy it!
