@Braden-Hallett I don't have anything to say about it except I love it already ๐Ÿ˜‚ maybe look out on the tangent with teddy's ear and the legs of the boy behind him ๐Ÿ˜‰

I see what you are going for, but I'm not sure that it communicates love. It almost reminds me of a 'before' scene from a movie showing a dysfunctional family before they learn to show love to one another. What if instead of looking like they are in despair, the parents were looking lovingly at each other in the midst of all the chaos? I think that strong contrast might be really impactful.

@inkandspatter Tough to tell from the thumbnail, but that's exactly what I'm planning ๐Ÿ™‚

@Kevin-Longueil Thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ™‚ I'l keep that all in mind once I start actually sketching and figuring out tangents and elements a little bit more.

@inkandspatter Imagine a dead tired but tender smile as they share short moment holding hands. Maybe a 'happy anniversary' card on the table, too :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:

@Braden-Hallett they could be negotiating who has to tackle which problem. Like playing poker. Or play Rock Paper Scissors for it. Or the laugh at your self smile, like โ€œI donโ€™t even know where to start.โ€ Or you could make the parents hide under the table holding hands. Letโ€™s pretend theyโ€™re not here. This is a very relatable illustration you have started! Although, Iโ€™ll keep my kids. They have their moments

@Braden-Hallett this is great. Pascal Campion is posting some very loose comic sketches along these lines on his Instagram lately. You should check it out. Heโ€™s one of my favorites and he captures the pains and joys of parenting so perfectly. โ˜บ๏ธ

                      Aaaaaand refined values:

                      alt text

Super basic light kinda colour study

                      alt text

And finally. Friggin' finally. The step that now takes me the least amount of time which I use to try to get to as soon as friggin' possible, the linework.

                      alt text

There's some clusters of tangents and lots of chaotic overlapping, but since it's suppose to FEEL chaotic, frenzied and just an utter cluster#*&^% I'm going to keep them.

Thanks everyone for your feedback so far ๐Ÿ™‚

@Braden-Hallett always impressive stuff. Cant wait to see how you decide to color it. But dang these parents are so into themselves nothing else matters right now.

@Braden-Hallett OMG. So good! This is going to be a fun one.

My only feedback would be where the parents heads are in relation to the bottom of the shelves, along with the cereal boxes. It's hard for me to tell the depth; are they in front of the shelves or underneath it? I know they're in front but my brain was playing tricks on me a bit. Lighting may resolve that.

And with the cereal boxes, the focus on the love between the parents two faces might be more clear if the boxes didn't take away from their silhouette? Maybe just leave the box on the left so the back of the dads head is more obvious.

                                  Great line work btw!

@Aleksey Thanks ๐Ÿ˜€ I'm gonna go with the overly wamr colour scheme for the chaos with the nice cool blue in the eye of the storm with the parents.

They ARE super into themselves :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes: at least until little Danica finds something solid in those cupboards and whips it at Jeremy's face to shut him up. Then Philly's gonna lose his soother. And we all know what happens when Philly loses his soother...
