@Lee-White Thanks so much for the encouraging words and the critiques. I’m really trying to get my illustration career up and running and your help is incredibly valuable to me. I’ve already started to thumbnail a couple of different gestures for the frog. I’ll post them in the forums and see what resonates. Thanks again for taking the time and giving me feedback.

@Lee-White Thanks for doing this! The woman is actually setting a trap in mine (#19 - the vampire one). She has a wooden stake in her hands and can see incoming footprints from the window. I was trying to make it visible, but without being too obvious. Any bonus tips on how to achieve that would be appreciated.

The lighting and mirror tips are noted! I was planning to put some vanity items (brushes, jewelry box, and whatnot) on the dresser but ran out of time.

@Lee-White This was so helpful watching the critique marathon. I was mean't to be doing some other work. But it was worth stopping and listening to what you had to say about all the pieces. Hats off to you 🎩 for being a top teacher.

I've only watched 6 minutes of this but I'm pretty sure I'm about to binge-watch every video critique. Thank you so much, @Lee-White. This is an amazingly generous gift and educational opportunity.

Update: Just finished watching (it's just past midnight and my mind is so buzzed that I'm not even sleepy:). Highly recommend watching through each one. It'll not only help you with your own work, but you'll also learn from a pro critiquer how to give effective and encouraging crits.

@Lee-White thank you so much for the critique. I had considered the rearranging of the characters as you suggested. To explain though, the idea was originally for the mouse to be riding the owl, but then switched it to show the mouse waiting for his ride, thus the sedentary position of that character. I do find it fun to play around with the natural rolls of characters, placing them in less common situations. Thank you again very much and very appreciated. 😀

@Lee-White Thank you so much for doing this. I have to be honest that I was very nervous when I heard you were critiquing them all because I've always felt I am stronger in story telling than illustration and I threw my picture into the mix just for the fun of it. Your critique, however, confirmed so much of what I have been moving toward style-wise that it just made my day and felt incredibly encouraging. Thank you for all of the time you put into this. Listening to critiques both of one's own work and others is such a great way of learning.

@Lee-White Thank you so much for the critique. I was crazy nervous. You are spot on and pointed out everything that i couldn't figure out but felt. Awesome. Thank you so much for your time. Not just with mine but with all of them. This was definitely a gift.

                                  To answer your story question:
I was going for an old man waiting to meet up with his son and grand daughter in a public area. Proportions is my next study. and i should have moved them over to the right and hit the graffiti in the left column. though he would not be looking at it. it would direct the eyes that way. I guess.

Sorry about no name. I got to learn. Do you think just pencil work is good enough? Feel like i lose that pencil magic and substitute it with that color magic.

Here is my finished before this critique.

@Lee-White Get yourself some coffee! (or maybe lemon tea with honey for the throat!) Thank you for all this work reviewing everyone's submission. Very helpful to hear over and over again what is needing to tell a story. Thanks so much for the time you spent.
