Hi, everyone! Now that I’ve finished my mermay entry, I want to create more pieces to form a narrative which is one of the reasons that attracted me to this concept. So, now that our main girl has rescued the lobster mermaid, the little girl must figure out a way to send her little friend back to the ocean. So naturally, what better or faster way to send the little mermaid back to sea than the toilet. However, our spunky little mer-girl is not so happy being flushed down the drain. What should the girl do? How can she send her friend back home? Will the this lobster mermaid ever get back to the ocean?
I actually have a few ideas of how the little girl will attempt to get the mermaid back to sea, however, she’ll be thwarted each time. Some of my ideas include sending her via mail, dropping her in a storm drain, asking a seagull for a favor... if you guys have some wacky ideas on how to get this lobster home, I’d love to hear them.

@Johanna-Kim @mellebluesworld Thank you! ️️

I love that you are continuing the sequence - your entry was one of my favorites! No wacky ideas for now but I love your ideas.
-
@djly thank you!

Hi, everyone! I just want to share an update on the illustration. What other fun way to send the lobster girl back to the ocean can you think of? If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share.
-
@nyrrylcadiz - I'm really liking how this updated illustration is coming together.
Hmm, as far as other ideas to get her back to the ocean, here are some ideas: 1) maybe she pays to get on one of those duck boat tours; 2) ties her to a plastic bag (plastic always ends up in the ocean ) ; 3) tries to get her a ride on a salmon migrating into the ocean?
No hurt feelings if you don't like any of these ideas but I hope it helps spark an idea. Good luck!
-
@djly I LOVE the idea of the mermaid riding a salmon that is on its seasonal migration! It conjures up so many wonderful images.
-
@djly lol i love that plastic one. It’s funny but sad at the same time . Would make a fun illustration thank you very much for the input. I highly appreciate it.
-
@animatosoor - thanks for the warm words!
@nyrrylcadiz - Yes, it is quite sad that plastic into the ocean is a reasonable transportation method into the ocean. haha, I hope it at least stirs-up some nice ideas for you.
-
@nyrrylcadiz your entry was my favorite ️ I just love it so much! As for getting back to the ocean, another idea is she could try to get the mermaid inside a water droplet that evaporates and goes back to the ocea as a raindrop. Just another wacky idea lol.

Hi everyone! Here’s another update. Almost done.
-
@nyrrylcadiz This is looking really good! Such a fun idea.
-
@animatosoor @Coley thank you very much!
-
@nyrrylcadiz so cute!
-
@nyrrylcadiz love how this is coming out. So fun to do a followup piece.
Just had one thought (and it might be because you aren't done yet.) The mermaid has a different feel than the rest of the piece and sort of looks like it is pasted in. I think it my be the way you outlined it but nothing else. As you finish you will want to smooth that out. I didn't really feel this from your other piece. It might be because she is so small?
Anyway, super cool. Can't wait to see the final.
-
@theprairiefox lol yes, i will still render her out. She’s the main reason this piece is still not finished. I’ll update you guys in the future. Thanks for the input.

@nyrrylcadiz glad you saw it too and I wasn't going to upset you. You never know...
