Our SVS Virtual Studio AUGUST🌻2019
-
I'm currently working on another Masters Study for the Dream Portfolio class. This time it's Gustavo Pelissari from Vitória, Brazil. His work varies in style, but his personal work fascinates me the most. I'm going to try replicating it so I can maybe glean a bit of "know-how." I've done a couple of these Masters Studies now, and every time I do one I learn a lot and my own skill increases. I'm enjoying the journey.

Saw a Muppet, sketched a Muppet, painted a Muppet. Lol

I have discovered new brushes and I am working on my digital painting skills. Here is a face study I have been working on.

This weeks prompts are based on DND characters. Prepare for many dour and hardy children :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:

I'm trying to do the draw 100 things challenge with elephants in my sketchbook, but decided to fit in a bit of today's DND prompt (dented armor and a goblin skull).

I've been busy with a new illustration and another sketch I'm hoping to get done this week:

SCBWI draw this
Hi. cool ideas. Very interesting theme to draw.
I could not find SCBWI draw this monthy theme. The page I have access to: https://www.scbwi.org/calling-all-illustrators-2/ seems to stuck on June. I thought they were on summer break, unitl I saw your post. Where do they post new prompt word now? -
@xin-li I know! I missed last months for the same reason. They put it in the monthly Insight publication. In the section that shows the winner for the last month.

WIP for a book I'm illustrating. Long way to go...

@burvantill clearly under-staffed during the holiday session. :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes: Thanks for sharing the prompt here. I might join in this month.
-
@StudioLooong I love all of these! The top illustration is brilliant, expressive characters and intriguing storytelling. Are they thinking about what's in space, maybe they are thinking about aliens or see a shooting star. The wip below looks like lots of fun too.

Getting my hands dirty with traditional art supply again. I saw an impro illustration class on skillshare by Roman muradov. Very inspired to play with brush and ink on paper again.
-
@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson Thanks so much! And yeah, they're looking at the stars.
