How To Ink 2.0 Group Runthrough Week 1

@Braden-Hallett that improvement is really incredible. Congrats for all your practice! Do you work on a cintiq?

@Kuarahy Sequential Art Workshop. A nice counterpoint to the classes and forums here. Much smaller community; they use a platform (Mighty Network) I'm not so fond of; and their discussion and classes focus on sequential art (comics and graphic novels, mostly). PM me if you'd like more info.

@chrisaakins It's amazing how fast line practice helps
You can post as often as you want, I think. This week is more 'practice them lines, dernit!' than anything else, so if posting keeps you practicing, then do it! In the later weeks we'll have more concrete 'assignments'.

I hope daily posting isn’t an issue
Not an issue at all
Post however often you need to keep you practicing the linework.

@Braden-Hallett nice
-
@Braden-Hallett Excited that you are organizing a group class again! I am going to do my best to join in weekly.
-
@Braden-Hallett accountability posting daily practice
Long lines the most difficult, especially curves—still working out what will be my daily practice to fill one piece of paper.
-
@BichonBistro great work
-
Really feeling this Pentel brush pen this morning!
Hope everyone has a great day and gets some solid practice in:) -
@BichonBistro Keep goin
Once you settle on what exercises to do on a single page it'll be easy to get it done every day
-
@Bricz-Art Man, i really love brush pens. I dug out my old one but it's dry as a bone :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:
-
Ok whew. Some were brush pens some were pen nibs.
-
mixing up the practice a bit, just kept the pen moving today. -
@Bricz-Art you have great looking lines.
I am using the same tool. :-). Love this pen. -
@Aleksey love these practice sheets of yours. So much enegy
-
@BichonBistro I have a Pentel brush pen waiting for me at the post office. Do you like yours? I am excited to start using it.
-
Basic, hatching and consistency. I like hatching -
@MichaelaH it feels good to be setting achievable, realistic goals—these exercises have helped me identify areas of greatest difficulty and intermediate steps and methods I can take to inch toward the hardest exercises (definitely long lines with any tool and consistency with brush pen, even for short straight lines).
-
@Braden-Hallett I’m almost there! Trying to strike a balance in daily practice exercises between comfort/zen zone, just beyond reach & way beyond reach
