How to ink 2.0 Group Runthrough Week 2

I’m happy.
It’s very sensitive compared to a micron. For sure! I’ve been using a micron or small tip dip pen for so long, the change will be interesting. I used the brush pen on the fuzzy shapes as if I was using a micron and I really like the effect. And the FINE line! Wow. When @Jake-Parker talks about the light pressure like a butterfly licking his paper I didn’t get it. Do now. Lol.

I moved the daily inking practice to evening today, but I forgot my Pentel brush pen and the studio. This filt pen was the only thing I can find at home.
Even though, filt pen is much easier to get a consistent line weight, I felt something is missing with this type of pen. I get very satisfied when I managed a long smooth curve with a brush pen, but this filt pen does not give me the same kind of kick.

Brush pen practice. I think I had the most trouble with the head and hair of the inventor girl.

Hi y’all! I wanted to do textures but I wanted to focus on the ones im having trouble with. Im using the “gold” tutorial on the etheringtonbrothers blog site I had mentioned before. Highly recommend!
Next one is gonna be actual gold objects like rings and stuff. This is also helping me with metallic surfaces.

@Braden-Hallett I know what you mean. I think that both process and the result matters, and especially the balance of the two. I am so glad that you organize this runthrough, makes it so much easier to show up and do it everyday.

I’ll do some more practice work with the shapes later but I’m catching up! Here’s my work from this week! What do you guys think? I feel like I have a hard time figuring out a middle ground between super heavy and super light lines and where they need to be applied.

Today's inking practice. 3 different characters from 3 different universes. Struggling with the details: eyes and hands are so hard with brush pen.

Are any of you doing this course digitally? I'm working my way through the week 1 exercises, hoping to catch up. But I'm doing them in Procreate on my iPad.

Not going to make it on the inking practice today. I painted instead. Just not enough hours in a day to do all the art. Maybe in heaven we can do art all we want and no one interrupts us except to tell us how awesome our work is. And since it is heaven, it will be.

A ball, clear marble and furry ball. Does the marble come across as a marble? That was tough. The very subtle value changes became not so subtle in my rendition
