@Passion-Hart some people do pencil sketches before October and then they're all ready for ink.

Here are my three characters. Now to decide how I want to ink them. Ballpoint? Brushpen? Toned paper? Alcohol markers? Too many choices!!!

And here is Tobie or Toby. Haven't decided how to spell it.

@chrisaakins The treatment of Reb is my favorite, but like all three! These mice are a lot cuter than the ones who invaded our house last year 😝

Tobie sticks with me more than Toby (in a good way πŸ˜‰)

@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson great minds think alike! πŸ™Œ I've also designed Halloween characters (it's October so it's gotta be Halloween themed!😈 ) but they're acting out a story using the given prompts ...I was ill over the weekend and being stuck in bed meant I had nothing else to do than draw. So I drew all 31 sketches (I've chosen a small square sketchbook to limit ink space!) I'm now in the process of remembering how to use ink! Trying to come up with ways to add texture and shading in time for October...it's difficult! 😩 I love you're little characters they would make fantastic stickers for children! 😍

@chrisaakins I like the way you inked Reb the best too, but they're all wonderful. Super cute.

The last two years I did themes with the prompts. 2017 I did pumpkin people, 2018 I did zombie people, and this year I am going to do creatures.

More practice. I think I am going to go with this style,a mix of brush pen, micron, and gel pen.

@lou Hope you feel better now. Well done for your 31 sketches! Brilliant idea of using the prompts and halloween characters. I'll be watching to see how you get on. ✨ I have a long way to go to get my sketches ready. πŸ™ƒ Thanks, I was really pleased with this illustration and it's funny now I realise there arn't any shadows on the ground or characters. :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:

@Aleksey I know, right? I have already sketched out at least two prompts and mentally planned three more and I want to go ahead and ink them. Maybe I should while the excitement is there. But not post them. Do I have that much self control???

@chrisaakins the way i see it if you have the energy and drive to ink it now, do it, it’ll leave you open to do other work during inktober. And not feel rushed or overwhelmed.

That would be my first Inktober but I can t do the prompts. I had plenty of awesome ideas but not the skills to put them on paper. It would take me a year going through them just for a decent result! πŸ˜…

So I plan to do it my way. I live in Sydney and Sydney has this immense, wonderful park in its heart. I am there every weekend gazing at the wildlife.
I will use Inktober to make my own map of the park paying tribute to it and the joy it brings to me. It is a challenge because I work long hours and have little time to draw and have never really ink anything big. This would be on A3 paper.

Wish me good luck! I tend to start many things and hardly finish them.

Meanwhile I am looking forward to see your ideas. If you follow the prompts, I would love to see a thread for each prompt gathering all your ideas separately for each day. I know most of you are on social medias and I follow many but not all. It will be easier to see the art from the forum!

                                            Cheers
