Finished my riff on β€œThree Washer Womenβ€œ by LΓ©on Augustin Lhermitte. I did it in traditional watercolor and brought it back into Procreate to tweak. Next, the Mona Lisa! (Just kidding.)

@LauraA This is so cute! I love the style. It reminds me of Robert Childress, one of my favorites. What media did you use?

@Anni Thank you! I had to look up Robert Childress, and I found out that he was the artist who illustrated the Dick and Jane readers. I learned to read with those! (And Dr. Seuss)

The illustration I posted is all digital (Kyle brushes, textured paper I bought online, and some scanned origami paper), and now, looking at it, I'd shape it up a bit. But the point was to finish something without taking forever, so there you go!

@Heather-Boyd Both. I used a reference photo of myself for the facial expression and hand placement, but the arms I just drew from memory I guess. Do they look okay? I know the wrist on the left looks wonky but that’s how it looked in the photo I took. So I stopped worrying and just left it alone.

@LauraA LOL. Its part of the story. You can see it on my IG. I've been posting all the pages from the beginning. My feed looks very bland with all the ink. As soon as I'm done I'm going to curate it and only have 3 posts with the whole story. The tiny balloon represents the courage that the real balloon is giving the boy. It (the boys courage) has been fluctuating for the last few pages and I wonder if I am translating that thoroughly or if people are just wondering if I can't color a shirt. LOL
