"...as she listened closely, she overheard them talking about her..."
Per Will, this prompt will allow you guys to explore complex human emotion.
Couple of details:
The contest is open to anyone. But the winners and runners up will only be selected from active SVS members.
Post only finished pieces here. Post WIP projects in their own thread.
Put your real name and forum name on the image somewhere (can be on a border if you like).
Good luck everyone!

This is too much fun! I'm glad I already had my Christmas shopping done!!

Well guys, I had posted a submission above a couple days ago because I thought that submitting early would keep me from spending a long time on revisions and scrutinizing my artwork like I always do. But did posting early discipline me? No.
edit: dec 19 - changed things again. Next time I'll finalize before posting.
Looking forward to seeing all the other great submissions which always blow my mind and set my goal standards to new heights.

I think I am going to call this done. I learned much by doing this. I know there is plenty of room for improvement but sometimes you just gotta be done with a piece.
-
I like when the challenge has some parameters. I'm happy with the final product.

Thanks for everyone’s feedback along the way with this!
-
@neschof I LOVE this!

Just about wrapped up with my entry. I finally got down to watching 'Coco' and was inspired by the 'Day of the Dead' festival/ day of remembrance of the departed souls. This was my first time colouring an illustration on Photoshop. I'm still learning, but having fun. Can't wait to see all the entries. May the Force be with you all!

Here’s my entry for the December contest!

My first ever attempt at this... don’t think I’m ready but hey.. gotta start somewhere!

Hi guys, I’m signing off for Christmas so here is my illustration

Thankful for the feedback I received in the forum on my previous versions. I had to do a Christmas theme for this prompt also! Elf on the Shelf! Merry Christmas, everyone.

As she listened closely, Mary overheard them talking about her...and the child.

Here's my entry for December. I remember that feeling ... not fun. But now, all these years later, it can help inform a piece of art. So, there's value in all experiences I suppose.

As she listened closely she overheard them talking about her friend.
The star of the school play has a homemade costume that she is quite content with, but some of the other reindeer don't think she belongs.

Rushed the shading, so there is too much grainy texture for my liking, and no time to color. Still submitting though.
