@Braden-Hallett Well, we haven't actually played yet. None of us have played an rpg before, and there isn't a game set up for Gravity Falls- so we've been doing prep work and research for it. That process has been a lot of fun though! We'll see how it goes. πŸ˜„

'kids on bikes' is a great roleplaying system (super simple) that's aimed at younger RPG players. It's also thematically VERY gravity falls πŸ™‚

I was digging through the hard drive and found an image I was going to do for the 'old and new' challenge about a year and a half ago. I really like the concept, so I'm redoing it πŸ™‚ I think it'll make a near postcard!

Hi I'm new here. This year's goal is to start indie publishing a book with my wife. I am pretty new to both painting and working digitally so I have been trying to get a better handle on both. Here is a start of a concept dragon and a tree sketch.

I just submitted my application to the Adobe Creative Residency. [screaming excitedly inside my head]. Now I'm going to forget all about it and continue doing the work I was planning on doing anyway. 😬

Random color study, my thought was what would happen if I use an unusual color for grass and sky.

I finished my fox cub comparison on Bristol board, hot press, and cold press but have to wait for daylight to try photographing them to see which works best so in the meantime, I drew and painted some bunnies in Procreate.

I'm working on a children's book with an independent publisher here in India. It's a short term project (~2 months) but I'm still excited since it's my first publishing contract πŸ™‚
There's a lot I have learnt over the past few months after joining SVS and now I've finally started planning my official portfolio. I have a couple of pieces I need to rework and a couple of new concepts which I need to start from scratch. It's all so overwhelming:smiling_face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat: !

@Braden-Hallett when you approach the silhouettes for these characters how do you do it? Trees are easier for me. Do you have a character design in mind, and then add shapes or how do you build your silhouette? Thanks I know this is a gallery, it’s not a critique it’s a question lols.

It depends! Sometimes I'll use the silhouette for more of a pose, sometimes I'll try and really figure out the shape of the characters. Sometimes I'll do a sihl for pose and then a sihl overtop for the actual silhouette. I'll usually do little studies for faces, interesting props and stuff before putting them together.
