Painting colour and light 2.0 Group run through week Six!!
-
@Braden-Hallett I'm definitely wayyyyy more aware of different lighting situations and aware that I should be aware Ha ha. Before I would have considered where the light and shadows were, I would have thought about if it was warm or cool (sometimes). So it's definitely a further education for me and arming me with more knowledge and possibilities for future work.
-
@Coley I think I'm in the same boat as you
-
I find myself stopping in public to stare at an object that is being lit nicely to try and put it in a category; hard, soft, ambient,etc. I'm sure I look like I've gone round the bend.

More than one person has seen me taking a photo of absolutely nothing apparently interesting the last few weeks

I edited the original post! watch 'light beam' as well!
-
It seems to me that rim light tends to bleed around objects, giving them a nice silhouette (at least in the outdoor shots)

@Braden-Hallett

I really like rays of light I should really use them more often.
-
@Braden-Hallett nice! looks kinda magical
-
@Coley Sparkly
-
rim light done today. not the best (especially the shadow) but it's done Rays of light up next.
-
@Coley I'm finding it difficult to anticipate exactly how much light needs to bend around the object for the rim lighting if you get what I mean. It seems to go further than it should sometimes L)
-
@Braden-Hallett yup it's one that needs some extra study and reference, and practice! Pretty cool when it works. I'm finding ambient lighting a little easier because it's so subtle lol

I agree that ambient light is very very friendly
-
@Braden-Hallett I'm using it (or trying to!) in my January contest idea. Putting the course work into practice
