Painting colour and light group runthrough week eight. Week friggin' EIGHT. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEIGHT.

Here's week 8!
Dappled light was so friggin' hard for me. I'm gonna have to do it some more on my own.
Let's do somethin' else!
This week is Half light (not what I thought it was) and Scattered light (bit of a revisit, but why not!)
Reminder: Everyone's welcome to participate, but in order to have access to the classes and homework you need an SVS subscription. It's worth it.
Feel free to do digital or traditional. It's all good.
This week!
Watch:
6 - Lighting situations - the section pertaining to half light and scattered light (about 19:00 on).
and
revisit the demo on subsurface scattering if you want to and watch 'backlight sun' for some scattering as opposed to subsurface scattering.
Homework:
Continue exercise 9 in the workbook!
Using either the lizard (such a fancy helmet) in the workbook or your own drawing (a sphere or object would be fine) AND REFERENCE. REFERENCE. MR. TERRY DEMANDS REFERENCE. A terrible fate shall befall all those who do not use REFERENCE... REFokay I'm done. Paint a half light and scattered light scenario (either scattered like bright sun behind trees 'n leaves 'n stuff or subsurface again).

Feel free to post your work for feedback and support here!

My sphere wasn't working out, so I decided to just paint some reference.
Since most of the half light images I've found are all majestic mountain landscapes, I think this may be what I do for the rest
-
Scattered loight!
-
@Braden-Hallett noiiice
-
I gave myself a challenge and tried scattered and half light in the same pic because I noticed when sorting my pics that one photo can be placed in more than one category.

It's true! It's sometimes hard to find examples of just one or the other.
-
@burvantill that's pretty brilliant.
-

They're surprisingly fun

Couldn't find too many characters in half light references, but gave up and went with a black and white cat (probably good practice, lol)
-
