This was the view from my driveway this evening while walking the dog. Multiple light sources and backlit silhouettes. I had to try. Itโ€™s pretty dark. I stood in the driveway for about 5 minutes trying to memorize it, I didnโ€™t have my phone on me for pics, so I donโ€™t know how close I got. The foreground bothers me the most. Itโ€™s kinda mushy. ๐Ÿคจ
Edit: Wow! Itโ€™s WAY darker on my phone than on my iPad.

Most multiple light sources I can find are at night and mostly street lights.

Even in photography people seem to try and find single light sources

@Braden-Hallett @burvantill Look! A silhouette! I am so sad that I had to miss this class with you guys. It looks like you have grown a great deal as artists. Inktober Day 10 Pattern.jpg

Looking at your work I can see with this piece that lil' Reb would probably be darker based on teh light source and Inky would be as well.

I found a reference for a deer on pinterest and stuck fairly close to it with exception of not painting the crow on the deer's back . silhouette. maybe a bit of scattered light influence as well

I seem to have trouble balancing things in dark situations but here's my attempt at practicing multiple light sources. I seem to have things too dark but when I lighten it, it looks washed out or not like it's nightime. It's good to practice these things and start figuring it out ๐Ÿคž anyhow here is a combo of Moonlight and a lantern on a very full wolf. Hopefully little Red made it home!!!!!

@burvantill thanks. I just realized he has dog ears and not wolf ears lol. I mistakenly represented him as a wolf. My bad ha ha ๐Ÿ˜…

Cool! Multiple light sources is REALLY hard. Most of the time I see them in photo's they don't actually influence much. They're just spots of bright in mostly darkness.

All right, ladies and gents! I think that's pretty much it!

Thanks to everyone for joining in when they could. I didn't realize that this course was QUITE so big when we started, lol.

I think I'll keep doing a mini study a day for the foreseeable future to really cement the different kinds of lighting situations we learned about.

And then at some point I'll do another class ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Hope everyone had a good time!

This was a great class and great company. Thankyou @Braden-Hallett for organizing it. You always do such a great job๐Ÿ™‚
I did one more silhouette with multiple light sources because I failed with the gate image๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

As a personal final assignment Iโ€™m going to color Will Terryโ€™s cabin kitchen drawing from the downloads. Anyone want to do a final with me?๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ˜Š

I look forward to seeing it! I think I'm just gonna keep up the momentum with the little studies. They seem to be helping ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm going to attempt to do another study or two of each one so it sinks in more ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks @Braden-Hallett for leading us through it the last 9 weeks! It sure pushed me to get the studies done ๐Ÿ™‚
