Since none were available commercially I created a set of Prismacolor pencil swatch color libraries for Procreate on iPad.

These are based on pencil rubbings of each color and converted to RGB. Unfortunately, there is no way to label the specific swatch with the pencil #.

There were a number of colors that simply do not exist in the RGB color gamut and are therefore unable to be reproduce. In total there are 137 pencil colors (I believe. I might be off a couple).

I’ve had my iPad Pro and pencil for 3 years now. The cap on my pencil falls apart, but I’m sure they are cheap to replace. I have two boys (9 and 3 years old), a crazy lab, and concrete floors. I have had no issues. I don’t use a protective case. Just the Smart Keyboard. The kids know they are not supposed to touch it, but my toddler still tries when I’m not looking. My main concern has always been snapping the pencil off while it’s charging, but it has never broken.

@smceccarelli Can I ask you please what solution you found as a workaround? I forgot I was supposed to start the file in rgb in procreate and convert later in photoshop to cmyk. And just imported the .psd cmyk file from my computer on procreate. It was only when my fiance asked about how colors exports on my computer that I checked. Now I have 60% of an illustration done in procreate with horrible colors when seen on my computer. It still exports the illustration as rgb, even though the original .psd file is cmyk. I would like to be able to use my work if possible, instead of starting all over again. Thank you for your help

@seanwelty Thanks. I had the biggest value contrast by far in the face to draw attention there. There's not much value difference within the hair - that's why I kept the background value a similar value to the hair so it didn't stand out as much. The black shadows in the reference were actually darker than I went and I wanted to draw the attention to the mouth/nose as they are what Ronnie is to me. I stayed more painterly away from those areas intentionally. Thank you for the input though, I really appreciate it.

Thank you Marsha. I didn't want to go too realistic with the colour and wanted a painterly feel to it. It was basically just a test of what the iPad Pro could do.

By the way, everyone worrying about the palm rejection - there are now a load of videos of people using their palms and having no problem, and they gave the iPad pro to the guys at Pixar and the one thing they were surprised about was how good the palm rejection was.
