Our SVS Virtual Studio SEPTEMBER 🎨 2020

I finally finished my flash card project for my kids. All I need to do now is print them and figure out what project to start next. I had already done a zebra for “Z” but it didn’t seem to fit the mood of finishing the alphabet and celebrating it so I came up with this one. Celebrating and congratulating the child for making it to the end and the illustrator for finally wrapping it up.

@Mary-Toth thanks I use custom brushes in corel painter.

Practicing drawing my character Lio in procreate. Loving the program so far.
Here’s a WIP.

I've been working through the vehicle design course. I just finished up the 2nd assignment, and decided to base the "vehicles" around Betelgeuse! Had lots of fun with making these designs, haha.
-
@ajillustrates that's terrific -to see your own progress shine!
-
@PieterVanDerBeek this is great, though I really like the first sketch phase the best.
-
@josegalue25 this is really nicely polished and eye catching, thanks for sharing!

I love seeing what everybody has been working on. This was a piece I originally did as a watercolor but I wasn’t happy with it so I redid it as a digital piece.

Another redraw of an Inktober 2018 sketch. I really like the original, but I felt I could improve the pose and proportions, and put more of my own style into it. My daughter is completely stoked to get this one on her wall!

Since these are a different style than I usually share on the forum, I'll provide a little backstory. This week will be the first time that my full team will be back in the office in 6 months, so this weekend, I decide to make my 4 co-workers Ninja Turtle portraits as desk-warming gifts. I've been a graphic designer for the last 12 years, so I don't really feel like I'm firing on all creative cylinders unless I'm in a groove, jumping between hand drawn and digital, Illustrator and Photoshop, design and illustration. Now that this is out of my system, I'm ready to jump back on the brush pen and knock out my Ink Fairy for the contest!

My husband just surprised me with and iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil, so I am exploring the world of digital art for the first time. I’m working my way through Will Terry’s procreate class. My first attempt at trying to use layers went horribly wrong. But, I’m starting to get it. I was feeling like everything was looking way to tight and rigid, so I decided yesterday to start a series of timed pleinair paintings. 45 minutes- an hour only. Here’s the first one. I think it could use a more defined focal point. Maybe get a bit darker around the edge?

Here’s another procreate plein air study of a restaurant in our town for my challenge.

@Coley this is just so perfectly cute! In my card line I have sketches for a mouse taking a bubble bath in a teacup (tea themed line) but it may not pass development stage, we'll see. Thanks for sharing your work!

@K-Flagg What an awesome concept!
