your work blows my mind....this is so cool and creative!
-
Decided to make a new character, it will be a gross little gremlin. Everything you see here was made today!My hope is to be able to someday make a children's book with little scenes like this and my creepy fairytale characters. No discernible plot, just nice scenes.
-
@kylebeaudette Soooo fun! Can't wait to see more :).
-
@Tiffany-Thomas thank you!!
Here's another angle
-
@kylebeaudette these are awesome! Do you have access to a kiln or what kind of clay are you using?
-
@Meg-Clayburn it's polymer clay, you cook it at low temperatures (250 Fahrenheit) in your home oven.
-
@kylebeaudette you did that with polymer clay?! That's amazing! Polymer clay always cracks on me.
-
Really wonderful pieces, so fun and imaginative!
-
@Meg-Clayburn i use sculpey firm, and I use floral wire with plumbing epoxy on it for an armature. The strong armatures prevent any cracking.
-
@kylebeaudette cool, that would be what is been missing. Thanks!
-
All are these are amazing. I love the knight and the fox models. I think the fox model would be an interesting character to explore for the monthly challenge.
-
@robbery thank you!! That fox is my take on a character from Larry MacDougall's 'Gwelf' (an upcoming book).

I love seeing these progress, so fun!
I just discovered an illustrator today, Chris Sickels, who works in 3D sculpture and I instantly thought of you. You've probably already heard of him but just in case I had to send you a link to his website.

@Tiffany-Thomas Ha, yes I know him. He's helped me along as I try to make stuff like this. I had made a little scene using some dollhouse furniture and it looked bad, he convinced me to make everything by hand. He's right, it just works better.
-
@kylebeaudette totally makes sense to make everything by hand, better continuity in the overall image :).
I love the progress you've made on your character, I can imagine his world and his expression is priceless, lol.
-
@Tiffany-Thomas thank you!
-
@kylebeaudette oh wow, I just realised Chris Sickels/Red Nose Studio shared your work on Instagram fairly recently after seeing this piece! I absolutely love his work, congrats
-
@carrieannebrown Thank you, yes that was amazing for me and so kind of him to do.
