Thank you everyone. I wasn't sure if I had clouded the concept a bit so that has really helped before I went into cleaning it up. I'm excited to get on with this now, but there's a lot to do!!! (and it's my own fault! 😂 ) You're all stars 🌟 🌟

Linework... This is still quite WIP. I've made so many changes while creating it so any critique is very much appreciated. Some things have no way of actually working but I'm trying to stop trying to be so realistic. I was trying to make things work in real life, but I gave up, nothing in this makes sense 😂

It's super busy so I'm going to try to see if I can make everything clear using value and colour. I will add the rest of the details (electric sparks, speedo colours etc. in the colour stage).

I do enjoy making these busy scenes but this is really difficult! 😖

My day job is a graphic designer working on brochures with VERY strict guidelines so I have to be very accurate and precise. This is my release from all that - it's a kind of therapy.

My partner is a physics teacher and apparently this isn't how a star works.

        Thanks all.

@lizardillo ah man I am sensing a butt-whoopin coming along. This piece is awesome. I love your work. At least I get the honor of losing to such a great illustration!

@chrisaakins Thank you. I wouldn't count yourself out just yet though, I think your work is great.

Here is the 'nearly' final. I think I've overworked it a little and gone a bit overboard with the lights but I'll sleep on it and have a look again in the morning. Any comments on the value would be appreciated. There's so much going on I really struggled with making things clear.

Turquoise is my favourite colour and it goes well with yellow and purple (I think, feel free to disagree!)

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments.

@lizardillo This is great! So fun😃. If I'd seen this as a kid I would have sat and stared at this forever.

@lizardillo This is awesome! I love all the details, so much to look at! I also love the idea that stars are powered by hamsters. It all makes much more sense to me than physics 😁 (And the turquoise works well.)

@lizardillo my first career was as a physicist and this is exactly how stars work.

Love all the details and just the whole thing generally! 🤩
