I can't believe it's March. It feels like I was just making the virtual studio post for February only a couple of days ago.

I was trying to come up with something cute and funny to say, but with what's happening in Ukraine right now, it seemed very lame and superficial to me.
There's a lot of really awful things going on in our world, lets try and spread a little joy. Share what you are working on.

Just imagine you are walking through a studio, silently looking over people's shoulders at their work.

This is NOT a place for critiques. You may applaud, encourage, ooh and ah, only.

...That feeling when you are enjoying a lovely breakfast and you realize that you never created an April thread for the Virtual Studio. YIKES!

Since we have been posting April in this March thread, I edited the name and we should just continue as if that was what I fully intended to do in the first place. =)x

Hey all,

I haven't posted here in years. I'm back and working on a webcomic. I just launched yesterday. (it's not for kids - more mature themes.) Currently working on Episode 2. Thought I'd try my hand at getting into Children's books or Graphic novels so I'm back at SVS.

Totally off topic but I'm so happy. Since I got a new phone before Christmas my ability to use the forum on my phone had been greatly affected. It was super glitchy. I couldn't upvote anything without it telling me I was "forbidden" and I couldn't scroll through the unread thread list without it crashing. I have a lot less time these days so I never tried very much to figure out a fix so my presence has been greatly reduced. BUT, this morning I had the brainstorm to load the Chrome browser app and it's working perfectly again! I was using Safari before. I'm doing a happy dance that I can participate regularly again with all you lovely people.

Are you able to post the reference image as well?
What program are you using, I assume Photoshop?
Did you try and do a Value Comparison between the reference and painting?

I normally do Caricatures, but this is looking good. The reference would really help.

@doodlemick I have so far to go, I’m not ready to worry about value comparisons just yet. I’ll probably put in about 10-15 hours before I get there

I’m using procreate and an Aaron Blaise custom pastel brush.
