Feedback wanted for sketch

Hello! I have an illustration I would love some help with.
I'm working on this Halloween piece for my portfolio. It's intended to showcase storytelling, composition, and characters.
I wanted feedback before I get too far in the illustration. I specifically want to know what I should do to make the zombies more like individuals instead of copy/paste ghouls. How would you make each one unique?I'm intending for a middle grade/ya audience.
Any feedback or red lining is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

@E-Miko Looks like a great start! You already started leaning toward character design with the ballcap zombie. My first impression looking at this piece is family. Perhaps lean into that with each zombie. Have some of them look younger to signify they are still adolescents. At least one older zombie to represent the parent.
I hope this helps. Excited to see what you do next. -
@Justin-Moss Thank you! I really appreciate your input. I hadn't thought about making them a literal family, so I'll try that out. Awesome idea!

@E-Miko This is great! I can't wait to see it completed. I like @Justin-Moss idea of creating a zombie family around a table. If you lean into that idea, maybe also make one of them female. Right now they seem to be all male. Maybe add a pearl bracelet or a bow on her scalp.

@E-Miko hi! I’d give them different clothes and accessories, hairstyles, and injuries (one might have an axe in his head, etc)

It looks amazing. May be one of them is the mother and as there are dishes in the background so maybe she’s wearing an apron and has a bit long hair on her. Adding props to the zombies can make them unique i guess
